I think rename can be used by other lib other than gulp.

You can merge this PR if you like, I will add you to rename repo as a maintainer.

I would like to use 'rename' standalone library in my plugin. It would be great if method of renaming will be consistent between modules.

Do you plan to merge this pull request?

Maybe it's a bit different between the two repo, I don't know will it be accepted. I will close the PR now, and you can comment me if you want this again.
