we have only one IP address to communicate with HPCC services, we send topology requests to this IP to get data about files, but data itself can reside on different IP addresses, this is the case with k8 clusters, we have not found the best solution and walk around was to use provided in cluster setup IP address to retrieve metadata about files and queries and if we can not get actual data by same address we will ask the user to provide a different address in the input box if the new address provided we will try to fetch data from there.
