I hope this isn't a case of me forgetting how to use Slack due to not joining new workspaces frequently enough):
If I use the email address that I normally use with Slack, it tries to mail me a 6-digit verification code, but the mail it sends me has the subject "No account found" and says that there isn't an account on High Performance Software Foundation tied to this email address (which seems accurate).

Contact the workspace administrator at High Performance Software Foundation for an invitation.
But then I don't see any clear way to contact the workspace administrator.
This makes me wonder whether the HPSF slack is intended for general public use. If so, it feels like more information about how to join is needed. If not, it seems like it shouldn't be part of the icon bar at the top of the website.
