Issue directed to Jane Martin.

luc-bertrand commented 6 years ago

Can we get an update on this one?

shussain commented 6 years ago

@ayoung8 should be able to address your question.

Un-assigning myself.

jmartinJJ commented 6 years ago

Hi Samir. Thank you. Just trying to get an update as to whether this was completed. We are looking into an error and it would be helpful to know if this was done. @ayoung8 please advise. Thanks!

ayoung8 commented 6 years ago

See the email trail. It was node refresh script was triggered by someone on the ras server @Jane, if we can clean up some of theses stale issues that'd be appreciated. Having them resolved and opened only results in the notifications being filtered into my and samir's spam

luc-bertrand commented 6 years ago

Are you saying that people working on the ras can trigger a script that erases our libraries in our development environment?

jmartinJJ commented 6 years ago

Hi Anthony, What I am trying to achieve is a repeatable process that we can use collectively to ensure we know when an action has been taken to resolve an issue so that we can verify that the outcome is as expected. then I believe the issue could be responsibly closed. May I have the date, time, and account name that executed the node refresh script please.

Thank you. Jane.

Hi Jane , as far as I know the only one using the ras server is romario and as such the command was execute by romario. It's possible romario provided access to someone else (we don't monitor since Collette has taken responsibility for all actions taken on the ras server) who executed the command however only Collette / romario would know

jmartinJJ commented 6 years ago

Please provide the log entries showing the account used and node script executed on which date and time that updated the libraries as you have suggested in your comments.

The original request was to have the libraries updated on HRE-DEV. The original follow-up request was is there an update on the status of the ask. My comment above from 2 days ago is suggesting that we work collectively to agreed upon a simple process for when open requests have been completed, communicated to us that they have been completed, verified by our team and then closed.

Cheers, Jane

I have not received any information regarding this resolution. When was this done? What script? How is this script triggered. What commands are in this script? Can this be retriggered manually?

ayoung8 commented 6 years ago

On ras server user rchuela has the following script in /home/rchuela/rebuild_npm.sh that deletes the old npm_modules in cfg-task-service and installs npm packages

luc-bertrand commented 6 years ago

This is the first time I see the user "rchuela" anywhere. I am the only user who has committed anything to this project. Are there any other random user out there who have the ability to delete stuff in my project on the HRE server from another remote machine? Sounds like we need to discuss user permissions in HRE.
