Switch: Crisis Core texture replace predictable crashing (Retroarch and Standalone) #12865

What happens?

Whenever texture replacement is enabled, even with empty textures.ini, Crisis Core will crash near end of first FMV after starting new game. Reproducible in US version and EU version.

What should happen?

What hardware, operating system, and PPSSPP version? On desktop, GPU matters for graphical issues.

PPSSPP Switch Standalone 1.9.0, 1.9.3 and also latest retroarch and retroarch core with correct assets in all folders.

Is this only on Switch, or on PC too?

This happens on a not officially supported custom firmware. Another tester said it worked fine for him on Atmosphere. So the validity of the Issue is in question / still needs to be sorted out. We will get back to that when more is known.

The issue persists after a reformat and full reinstall.

Latest Official Firmware, Latest Atmosphere, Latest PPSSPPs

I'll try another SD card to eliminate that.

Happens in other movie clips too. If I save state before a crash, and reload after a crash, it usually gets past.

Do you have a phone or PC, just to verify that this doesn't happen there with the same ISO and settings (including any cheats or saves)?

I seem to recall this is a game that sometimes crashes when an unsupported FFmpeg version is used, but I thought the crash was at the start of videos (and texture replacement wouldn't be involved.)

Works fine on PC. Tried with 3 versions of the game: EU, US, and a Japanese Undub

Hm I wonder if I mixed something up with the ffmpeg ver locally, will give it a shot, Unknown.
