yugioh ppsspp stuck (corrupt save)

hi guys i'm new here and i'm using ppsspp v1.0.1 now i'm playing this yugioh gx tag force 1 everything is fine, the duel,the card,the field.. but there is 1 thing that bothers me, i can't save my game when i've been this far. Everytime i save the game, it always stuck in checking memory card and it won't proccess any further, and it does feel uncomfortable if i use "save state" option to save the game please help me to solve this problem and recover my save Thanks

@sum2012 pasted the save into the save states folder and loaded up the game but it didn't fix the "checking storage media" problem at the end of the duel :/

@XeroDelete No, you should paste and extract my save into PSP\SAVEDATA folder. Then use game load save (DO NOT use load save status)

But isn't the file in the above link a ppsspp save state file and not a save data file (e.g. DATA0) so extracting it into the savedata folder wouldn't do anything? Sorry for being so confused and such work

Ok it looks like everything is fixed now and is booting up the save just before the duel, when I play not using save states, and is not getting stuck on save screen anymore when saving in game. Thanks for all the help sum really appreciate it, you're the boss 😁 😃

When I went to memstick\PSp\PPSPP_STATE, there were a bunch of JPG and PPST files that looked liked saves. Honestly I don't know what I'm doing and if I'm doing it right. I'm just trying to play Yu Gi Oh lol. It always gets stuck when saving in the games. I'm sure I did something wrong and if you could please explain it so I can understand, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Yu Gi Oh 's save status is not full compatible game save. You might need to use game save after you play duel.

@sum2012 I tried loading into the game with the file but I couldn't get it to work, I messed with it a little but still no progress. I guess I'll just suck it up and not be able to save or just give up on it entirely. Oh and this might/might not matter but the file I linked was for Yu Gi oh Tag Force 4

@sum2012 I think it finally works! I loaded it (It hadn't saved in-game at all so I basically had to watch the prologue) I tried saving and it worked. I also, for curiosity, loaded a previous save from PPSSPP save slots and tried saving in-game and it didn't work. It doesn't really matter I guess because I wasn't that far into it. (Only a couple hours lol). Now I have to figure out why my PC won't recognize anything that I plug in via USb (ex: Phone and Controller). Sorry to bother again but do you know what I should do? If not it's okay, I'm just glad it is finally saving in-game again. Thank you very much!!!

Its okay ,i really appreciate you taking the time out to help me , any advice on how to avoid corrupting the save again? I usually save at the beginning of duels at the coin toss and if i make a misplay i restart the duel and use the fastword button to speed up duel gameplay

I think a compat hack was added for this, but I also made a change which might fix the network dialog from hanging and keeping other dialogs from properly closing.

I haven't any experience about corrupt save in Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V Tag Force Special using latest git build of ppsspp. Also someone who played Yu-Gi-Oh Tag Force 1,2,3,4,5 & 6 said that he also haven't experience this issue https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/issues/12877#issuecomment-625885975

Can you try removing / disabling YugiohSaveFix from compat.ini and see if it still doesn't happen?

That hack does something probably incorrect (although probably not hurting Yu Gi Oh) that may be working around this. If it's not needed anymore with the network dialog fix, that'd be great and we can clean it up.

Sounds like the workaround, at the very least, is working.

If I'm right about my network dialog fix, it'd only happen when triggering certain networking features. Then you'd be unable to save or load.

After playing around 2-3 hours I didn't experience corrupt save in this two Yu-Gi-Oh games (w/o ygo save tool fixed in compat.ini) Also I did not use savestates and cheats :)

Yes do it now remove yu-gi-oh savefix tool that you added and see if this issue still reproduce.

I played all the game on 1.9.3-998 until the last day of the part 1, then the save's bug appeared. So i tried to run on 1.10.3, but it didnt work, the bug continued.

Oh, the game is Yugioh GX Tag Force 1, i forgot to mention.

Depends on how it was reproduced.

The problem is, when you open a dialog, the PSP firmware doesn't allow you to open a second dialog until the first one is closed. In part, this is because of memory allocation and other things - it can't manage both at the same time.

We had a bug in the network dialog that made it forget to "close" the dialog. Even though it was no longer displayed, the dialog was still considered open. This prevented opening any other dialog, including save dialogs.

The fix makes it so when the dialog is supposed to close, it is actually recorded as closed correctly. So now, if you never use an old version of PPSSPP, you should (hopefully) never have the problem. If the network dialog shows, it will get closed.

However, the fix doesn't help you if you already used an old version, and in this old version you opened the network dialog. The old version would not have recorded the dialog closing properly, and so even if you load the save state in a newer PPSSPP, the bug is preserved. The dialog will still be "open" and prevent any other dialog from opening.

So: if the bug was reproduced on an old version of PPSSPP, it's expected that using a newer version will not fix it. Was the bug reproduced on a newer version without ever using an old version of PPSSPP for that save state?
