My experience with Dropbox has been mostly with my magazine group. We have private folders that are shared.
However, it is possible to use a public folder and either post the URL to that OR post the URL of individual files. I will experiment with that.
Thinking about using Dropbox for document storage for the web site.
Would be a lot easier to manage, rather than having to manually update the HTML on the web site.
We could also easily have non-public folders where we can store archives of documents, if we want.
Big downside is that the links are pretty cruddy. It would be a bit problematic, I think, to provide links to individual documents on Dropbox, on a web page, like we currently do in some cases. I don't think this is a huge problem - I mean we CAN add links with crufty URLs if we need to. And in general we can just stop providing links to individual documents, I guess.
I guess we'd also have the ability to share these folders - read-only - so any Band Booster member could link/share them from their own Dropbox account.
