Better handling of single track albums #75

Open towerofnix opened 2 years ago

towerofnix commented 2 years ago

should be possible to incorporate track info into the album page itself if desired, instead of having to click through to the actual track

This is something I've felt like doing for a while, but I've never gotten around to designing it. Thanks for the suggestion, Niklink!

Input from Discord #issuefication-zone (attachment):

Makin: if only there was a single word to describe single track albums

Niklink: would that there were, unfortunately there is a slight distinction between singles https://coolandnewwebcomic.bandcamp.com/track/carne-vale-fusion-collab and albums with only one song https://sinisterpsyche.bandcamp.com/album/fuchsia-ruler-single

Makin: yes, the distinction is that people misconfigure bandcamp

Niklink: true, but still, for example act 7 has unique art on the track itself. or had, i guess
maybe that can be considered under the multiple artwork feature.

A good catch from Makin: Singles (i.e. albums-with-one-track) show YouTube listening links as "YouTube (full album)", because video links (rather than playlists) for albums are treated as "all in one" uploads. Which is technically true for singles, but it doesn't sound right.

Makin: when it's just one track, the youtube link should say (full single)

The Raddest with text "Listen on Bandcamp or YouTube (full album)" even though the "album" only has one track

QN: good catch, do you think it should be "full single" or would just cutting the parenthical part (i.e. "Listen on Bandcamp or YouTube") be fine? the original point of that "(full album)" accent was to enable differentiating between a playlist and an upload of the whole track in one video, which otherwise would both just be displayed as "Listen on YouTube or YouTube"
