tabs and spaces mixed #8

utils.py mixes tabs and spaces, throwing an error in python 3

@jakob-stoeck I am not sure about python3 support, this project was built for python2.7 support. Anyways I will look into enabling the package with python3 support. @hspandher, any comments?
