Bikeshed away, please. One we merge, we should adjust all of our documents-in-flight (including those in AUTH48) to match.

I gather you want to put in support for displayreference declarations? SMOP. I'm considering adding a sub-parameter to bib entries (under informative/normative). Do you have an example document to which you'd want to do this?

@cabo, it appears that after making that change, the markdown has to reference the document by the actual anchor (i.e. RFCxxxx). Any possibility of accepting either for the reference, since the mnemonic name is easier for the author as well as the reader?
