Thank you for making the image. I followed this guide https://wiki.radxa.com/Rock5/guide/build-u-boot-on-5b but it wont bot without an micro sd card in place. Your image boots great without an SD card. Curious if you could show what you changed on the boot loader source?

I have an issue where sometimes when I reboot it will hang and the computer will become inoperable. If I run any os arbian/debian and set a cron to reboot at 5 min it will eventually hang. Maybe the 1st or second time, sometimes the 10th.

Same here,

plus about 70% of the time it fails because it doe not find the root file system:

Begin: Mounting root file system ... Begin: Running /scripts/local-top ... done.
Begin: Running /scripts/local-premount ... Scanning for Btrfs filesystems
done.
Begin: Waiting for root file system ... Begin: Running /scripts/local-block ... done.
done.
Gave up waiting for root file system device. Common problems:
 - Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
   - Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)
 - Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT! /dev/mmcblk0p1 does not exist. Dropping to a shell!

I'm using a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro as NVMe device.

The OS image is: Armbian_23.5.1_Rock-5b_jammy_legacy_5.10.160.img.xz

The Rock 5B never goes into a boot loop but I'm wondering if the power supply could (still) be the root cause of the missing root file system.

PS: Booting from eMMC never fails and the NVMe is always visible.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks for your feedback, I'm not the author of this uboot and I can't help in any way. I just moved this file from the official radxa QQ group to the wiki. The author's QQ number is 195375690
