The CC* / extraction sites do have a rui location (spatial entity), but there is no way to 'select' it at this time. I think ultimately we want to move away from the 3d-modeled extraction sites to essentially rui locations marked as extraction sites that can be selected fo registration. Or something along those lines.
Needs spec'ing out and deliberation on the right path forward for this.
From Marda Jorgensen, 10/25/21: This was just a thought since during placing entries in the UUID, there is a step where we register the individual CCFs that were harvested and there is an active RUI link offered…so I thought if it was possible to just capture the already existing model with a single CCF illuminated it could be added to the UUID registry. Not an issue- just seemed that since it is already there we could use it.
Maybe we should just screenshot the RUI and put it in images instead?
Not anything that merits developing extra code.
From Marda J, 10/19/21: I was wondering if it would be possible to register an entire CCF in the UUID.
So, for example, can we have the CC2 identified within the 3-D model (which is already green colored) into a registered location in the UUID. We register “organ pieces” as part of the dissection workflow on the way to generating cubes, and there is the possibility to register a location in the RUI at this level. I guess basically we would just need to turn off CC1 and CC3 and save the result in the UUID ingest localization?
Probably not worth it until the UUID ingest allows for direct visualizations, but wanted to put it on your radar screen in case this is something you haven’t already thought of.
