Cell vs Relationship Module

Formerly known as the Cell Types module, we are revamping this component to feature both cells (nodes) and relationships (edges). We need:

• Option to see listing of relationships/edges through a single select segmented button
• Option to hide/show relationships/edges just like cell types with the checkbox pattern
• Option to edit color of relationships/edges with the swatch button & color picker flyout

@bherr2, @J-Yash - I envision the Relationships Data module looking identical to the Cell Data module. In this iteration, users activate the relationships state by clicking on the single-select segmented button titled "Relationship Data." Questions I have so far:

• Will relationships/edges have counts greater than one?
• Is there an anchor relationship? I'm assuming no, but want to verify!
• Will relationships/edges also have relationship types and total relationships, like cell types and total cells?
• What feedback do you have on the direction of this design?

Thanks @LibbyUX . Just to reiterate, the idea for this is to show both cell counts as well as link counts for each cell type. I believe not all cells are connected to an anchor cell and so it will be useful information to see how many cells actually connect to an anchor cell. The anchor cell type will not have the link count (but will have the cell count). And the Hide Cell Links allows toggling the visibility of all links in the main visualization as that helps see some regions well and also allows before/after screenshots of the cell distance visualization.

Cell Types Module

• Implement all cosmetic UI updates (font sizes, padding updates, color updates)
• Add more menu + micro tooltip
  • Add a reset all colors button in menu
  • Add snackbar for all downloads
• Updating node colors in the cell type table updates them globally in the violin graph and histogram
• Default sort cell type table by the highest to lowest cell count as we currently have in the CDE
• Add Cell Links details/column
  • Users can show/hide cell links, hiding all edges/cell links in Cell Types module table view (per tooltip). Hidden cell links/edges still appear on downloads. (10.1.2024: Edited to clarify - incorrectly had visualization module previously!)

Hi @bhushankhope, per our conversation, I created a Cell Types Module variant with the cell links hidden.

Question: Cell CSV & Cell Links CSV Downloads

@J-Yash, we have a question regarding the Cell CSV and Cell Links downloads: Can you please let us know your expectations for these downloads?

If I had to guess:

• Cells CSV
  • Headers: Cell Type, Count
• Cell Links CSV
  • Headers: Cell Type, X, Y, Z

Now that I'm typing this out, this isn't much different from our Create Vis required format. We could consolidate this into one button/one file if that make more sense. @J-Yash, please let us know your expectations for this functionality as soon as you can! @bhushankhope is currently working on this component.

• The Cell CSV file would have the same format as the one uploaded in create vis: x, y, z, Cell Type.
• The Cell Links CSV has the format: Cell ID, x1, y1, z1, x2, y2, z2. This is the current output format of the links file. Note that Cell ID basically corresponds to the row of that cell in nodes file.
• Ideally, for the Cell Links CSV file, there is also a Distance column that contains the computed Euclidian distance for the edge. This allows a user to download the computed edges and distances for analysis on their end locally. But I'm not sure if that's part of the current spec, in which case we can move this to the next release cycle.
