Sharing collections of data

User Need:

Needs a way to collaborate with other users on the same project by sharing a list of data (e.g. datasets, samples).

User Scenario:

• User selects data that needs to be shared (e.g. sample for a kidney sc-rnaseq project) and adds to list.
• Lists can be shared with other users (optimally be seen and collaborated on at the same time). This means other users can also add or remove data from the list.

UI Requirements:

• [ ] Ability to add any types of data to a list
• [ ] Lists can be shared to other users.
• [ ] Lists can be collaborated on by other users.

Updates:

• IEC is working on expanding the collection entity to allow collections to include any data into a collection. Currently only datasets can be added to a collection. Expected delivery: Mid-July
• IEC can support collections to be added by a logged-in user to be shared with other users. Expected delivery: June 7, 2023
• Note: This does not indicate user profiles. This collection entity will still exist in the backend infrastructure that is accessible through elastic-search.
