Ok, probably a perfs issue (or something related to the fact not everything is
well threaded yet).

If I do set the "clock rate" to more then 16KHz, then the app getting slow like
here in this issue.
When I go with 8 or 16 KHz, all is ok.
Maybe that helps!?

If I increase echo cancellation tail to 1000 (speex) then the screen takes a
long time to display on incoming calls for r591.

I have that problem as well on the Motorola Charm.
Setting clock rate to 8KHz certainly helps.
Strangely, disabling the notification icon in the top bar helped a lot as well.
However, I also noticed that the theme used makes a big difference. The
integrated theme has the fastest start times.
Is it maybe possible as well to strip down the interface more? Say, could it be
possible to disable the draggable box which only shows that strange green
Android?

I have the same 'black screen' problem on my Samsung Galaxy W I8150 device.
Adroid 2.3, 1.4ghz new phone.
CSIPSimple application fully blocks the system when receiving and making calls.
I couldn't use it and removed from the system. I appreciate if you can issue a
fix for this case.
Note: App version CSipSimple-0.03-01.apk
