Sipdroid: No Suitable Data Network Ready #56

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
NOTE1: This form is only for reporting bugs. For questions, comments, or
advice please visit: http://groups.google.com/group/sipdroid-users

NOTE2: Before you continue please read if the bug has been reported before.
There are already lots of duplicates in the list.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Register your sipdroid, get a green light
2. Attempt to dial out over EDGE (and probably 3G)
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Instead of dialing it throws up a little window
error message "No suitable data network ready". Seems to still
work over WiFi. This started happening only recently, is T-Mobile
putting filters in???

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.9.7 G1 Cupcake 1.5

Please provide any additional information below.
Not sure if the message is from sipdroid or the OS.

Apparently this "feature" has been introduced since 0.9.6 version, the 0.9.5
does not complain about it.

It's not a bug. It's a feature. You can adjust in advanced options. Now 4 bars
are the
preset minimum for EDGE networks.

Data
Network available".

This must be fixed. My connection is edge and i used to get decent call
quality. Also, while i am in my
house, i have wifi, if sipdroid is connected by edge, can wake up the wifi and
call again, IF the quality is
not good

Please fix this BUG!!! It is NOT a feature, it is a bug! (I know you are
thinking it as a feature)

Using 1.2.4 Beta and on 2G networks I'm getting the dreaded "No Suitable Data
Network
Available". Other less desirable SIP Android Apps seem to cope. Preset
minimum for
edge networks appears missing from Advanced Options. Perhaps a check box that
says, "attempt connection even if signal weak". That way, I accept that the
quality may
be poor, but I won't have to use another product, when I really don't want to.

Cheers.

Sir I just bought a samsung I5700 with Andriod 1.5 and installed latest
Sipdroid,I am
getting a small window to type below Sipdriod. Anything I type in it keeps
saying "no
suitable data network available, I have a strong wifi signal and all my mail is
working with it, I have turned off data 3G and using 2g to avoid being hit by
large
databills from provider.
Please help me in configuring Sipdroid, I can't find the proper URL which can
guide me

pmerl: I got Sipdroid primarily to use on WiFi networks, and even when
connected to a strong WiFi signal, get the message "Sipdroid -- No suitable
data network available". Why has no further progress been made since the bug
was "Fixed" Dec 03, 2009??? It is still a major problem.
Thanks - Larry 8-)>

I tried and gave up on Sipdroid because this "feature" basically makes it not
work. Even right next to my wireless access point where I am getting an
excellent signal. Sipdroid is broken; not my wireless access.

This "feature" is a major no-go for Sipdroid.
