For release 1.0.1 we replaced some icons by the default ones where available.

Better in release 1.0.1, but on the in call screen, can probably change all of
those. Look in the android source for
the Phone application:
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/packages/apps/Phone.git;a=summary Has
lots
of great menu icons like ones for the DTMF tones and such.

I don't like the generic green dot in the notifier-bar. It should be replaced
by a
more specific and also more Android-styled icon, maybe a telephone with a globe
in
the back.

simple is good, but a familiar look to the application is important (could
really use
a dialer)

nils is correct. Status icons should not be overly complex, but they should be
able
to stand alone and identify what application created them. A colored dot is not
completely ideal for that task. Also, if I recall correctly according to AOSP
design
guidelines, status icons should preferably be black&white. This isn't top of
the list
priority, but UI polish will convey a sense of a more thoughtfully produced
program
for end-users.
