Multiple quality improvements #30

This pull request is focused on resolving occurrences of Sonar rules squid:S2039 - Member variable visibility should be specified squid:SwitchLastCaseIsDefaultCheck - "switch" statements should end with a "default" clause squid:S00119 - Type parameter names should comply with a naming convention
