Incomplete soft-dotting #16

Open dscorbett opened 4 years ago

Soft dots are only removed from ⟨i⟩ and ⟨j⟩. The following should also lose their dots in the same contexts:

Hi @dscorbett Sorry, I don't understand this issue. What do you mean by losing their dots?

dscorbett commented 3 years ago

Normally, letters like U+0069 LATIN SMALL LETTER I have dots. i However, when they have marks above them, their dots disappear. This is called soft-dotting. For example, here is <U+0069, U+030A>. i̊ Unicode defines which characters are soft-dotted using the Soft_Dotted property in PropList.txt. Of the soft-dotted characters that Piazzolla supports, the four I reported do not lose their dots when above-base marks are applied. For example, here is <U+012F, U+0300, U+0456, U+0301, U+0458, U+0302, U+1ECB, U+0303>. į̀і́ј̂ị̃ (The marks are also positioned incorrectly, but that is a separate issue.)
