interface length traiterror #17

If we change the Interface Length(nm) (of a new added layer in Stack) before configuring Layer Material, it raises an error, for instance changing 10.0 to 2.6:

TraitError: The 'd' trait of a BasicLayer instance must be a float, 
but a value of u'2.6' <type 'unicode'> was specified.
