sphinx/fixdoc: broader compatibility #48

the attached patch makes `make html` removes shebang from sphinx/fixdoc, awk is 
looked for in sphinx/Makefile, and replaces `gensub` calls with `sub`.  this 
should fix doc generation on systems with awk in a different place (freebsd has 
it in /usr/bin) and/or without gawk.
