Just to add my two cents, I thought I would mention a few ideas (that may have been raised before) about what would make an excellent app even better.

For me joint best app on the Deck with PowerTools, so not complaining about the incredible work you've done so far.

Quality of life

The crashing I definitely want to address since it's affecting a lot more people. The new features could just introduce new bugs so I want to make sure the plugin is stable first

hulkrelax commented 1 year ago

Just a question @Feelgoodlost, do you use CSS Loader as well?

hulkrelax commented 1 year ago

Actually, I don't think it is relevant. I was able to repro a crash without css loader present

Just a question @Feelgoodlost, do you use CSS Loader as well?

Just to completely rule it out, I've never used it.

Thanks. I think I've identified what's causing the crashes. Seems likely a Steam client bug but I have a plan to work around it. Need to investigate a little more to be sure my fix works.

I think I have fixed most if not all crashes @Feelgoodlost. It will be available in DeckFAQS v1.7.0. I haven't read in detail every request. I imagine some will be feasible and some may not. The plugin is a bit of a hacky mess considering it's a lot of web scraping of a website that has existed for almost 30 years. I think guide favoriting seems like a sensible choice so I think at a minimum I will likely implement that one at some point.

That sounds really promising, looking forward to using it when it's live. Even as is it's been a game changer for gaming on the go, even if it is (as you say) "a hacky mess", GameFaqs is the best site and this app has changed how I game.
