We want to make the info easily accessible. If there is a short version in Knot, you should be able to expand it to a full window (overly, for example) of the baseball card. But the emphasis in Knot should be on concise, easily readable stats:
Links in/out as number of people right? What if a persone send and receive letters to the same person, does it count as 1 in and 1 out? How do you deal with edges without directionality like family and meeting?
What about:
Yes, a very tight, concise view of all those stars would be helpful. Default could be viewed links, mouse over shows total.

Number of correspondents (total and in the current view) Letters sent/received (total and in the current view) Family links (total and in the current view) Meeting links (total and in the current view) — Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub.
Which information you want to see when I select one node? All the data avaible about him or a predefined list of information that work for all the nodes. If we go for the predefined list which are the info? Only name, date of birth and death, place of birth and death? Another option could be that the "basic" list is there by default and in the settings of Knot he can add other info and costumize the "info panel".
