Clarifying "supported" #531

Morning, we had a squad discussion what it means to be on a supported Altis version, and what it means to fall out of that. The documentation does a good job to explain Long Term Supported releases and the expectation of bugfixes but no new features. (ie the focus of the platform team on the latest version). However I was unable to find a definition of supported/unsupported.

We could really use some information though what limitations apply when running an unsupported version. These are my assumptions:

A project on an unsupported version:

  1. Can not be guaranteed security vulnerabilities will get their fixes applied?
  2. Might not receive Altis Support for issues specific to unsupported versions?

Also there could be contract related clauses about being on a supported version? Can things break because releases of packages/modules are no longer tested?

For questions like this, please contact support or your account manager, who can answer things specific to contractual agreements.
