The repo currently symlinks the twentyeleven - twentythirteen themes from the core install. There is little cause to actually use these themes, and if we were to keep them we should at least update to the latest core theme only.
I propose that we eliminate the core themes entirely in our codebase and allow core to load the core theme if absolutely necessary.
