Does it still happen for you? I cannot reproduce the problem. What browser are you using, since that might be a factor.
I can not reproduce it on my current computer either. It occured on a 2006 imac osx 10.6 and an older version of firefox, I think 48.0.2 .

Resizing the browser I see it has a minimum width, which seems to be related to a good functioning of the pagination. On my server I'm able to make the browser less width, but when I go to page 2, there are a few bars missing. Here are page 1 and 2:
