The view mode is a bit confusing for users. It can be set as default, which means that a user who calls up the calendar sees a list of all events for the year. As soon as a user selects one of the other view modes, they can only return to the year view by calling up the calendar again.
We should consider adding the view mode option to the navigation, or perhaps replacing "list" with "year".
Additionally, users may benefit from seeing only upcoming events in the list. The current behaviour of this view mode could lead to a lot of scrolling, especially later in the year.
