You don't have any recommendations so far? May I suggest you to have a look at your French brother project, Mangaki? :) (Sorry, everything is in French so far, except the code.)

Given that Hummingbird already seems to have a (somewhat rudimentary?) recommender (https://hummingbird.me/recommendations), what is this issue about? If you're looking to do research on and implement a new system I'd be more than happy to help out. I have some background in machine learning, including recommender systems.

This issue is about the Recommendation implementation in Hummingbird V3.

@BeholdMyGlory Hummingbird v2 already has quite a lot of the things that are listed as issues currently. Basically, since Hummingbird is redeveloped at the moment, there is an issue for every core component of the site, including recommendations. Any issues assigned to the v3 milestone are mostly used for goal-setting, progress-tracking and discussion for now.

If you want to get involved with the development of Hummingbird v3, I'd recommend you join the dev chat on slack though :wink:

Well, FWIW I did email Josh a while back, but I'm interpreting the lack of response as meaning "not interested". Since I already brought up the subject here, though, I'd still like to take the opportunity to ask if there's any chance I could get my hands on a dump of user ratings anyway, just for personal experimentation? I assume you wouldn't look too favourably upon scraping the entire ratings database using the public API.

Hummingbird rebranded to Kitsu nearly 8 years ago. That domain is not owned by us.
