Not able to search for apps in app drawer

Whenever I try to search for the app in app drawer by tapping the search bar the icon of desired app never appears

Can you give a little more details? What device do you have, what android version, what do you search for, which app should appear but doesn't, etc.

I could be any app I'm currently using Mi A1 Android oreo

same here, using pixel 2 xl, android 8.1.

It is due to apps with non-english characters. Long press that app and edit its name to english characters.
