No weather with at a glance

Hi,

Love your launcher, but I have to ask if there is an option to have the weather displayed under the date with at a glance. I'm sure I've seen some screenshots online with the weather displayed, this maybe some other pixel launcher, however I cannot find this option using the latest Launcher version (1.10) and Companion App (1.0.6). Am I missing something here or is it not available? I thought it might need location so I turned it on to no avail.

Hi,

Thanks, glad you like the launcher!

Make sure that you did all the following steps:

install the companion app (this should be done already)
launch the companion app at least once
open your Google app, make sure weather is visible in your feed
if weather isn't visible, try to pull-to-refresh your feed until it is
also, as you mentioned, location is most likely needed as well

When the weather appears in your feed, At A Glance should start to display it as well.

Hi,

All of the steps are done but the problem occurs with my feed, I searched online for a solution seeing as how my google feed settings were grayed out (unavailable), the solution is not to my taste and I will not be implementing it. For those who are curious, to have a fully functioning feed/weather the following settings need to be turned on (in short):

Google Hotword Detection (OK Google detection)
Google Voice, Audio Activity and Web & App Activity
Most likely location as well, I heard it needs fine location at that

I'm kinda conscious about privacy and have some of these turned off for a reason, it might be a case of fighting windmills seeing as it is a Google OS in the end, but I avoid providing any extra information. Lawnchair Launcher has it's own implementation although I prefer the stock one, I guess you won't be keen on making a custom implementation that wouldn't need location?

At any rate this issue can be closed as I don't see a user-side solution and technically it isn't a problem with the app.

Huh, I see, and I understand why you do this. :)

I cannot promise anything, but sooner or later I'm planning to implement at least weather, similar on how Lawnchair has it.

In any way, as you mentioned, this issue can be closed. Thanks for the feedback!
