NX1000 question #1

Open ajavamind opened 4 years ago

ajavamind commented 4 years ago

I tried placing the autoexec.sh file in root directory of SD card in a NX1000 and powered up. Nothing happened. Could this work for NX1000 with modifications? Are there any other files needed? Is there any way to enter developer mode in the NX1000? thanks,

Hi Andy! I dont have the NX1000, but in dpreview forum there are threads about this question, there is a reply from StenM in Jul 30, 2016 saying this:

-
- install nx_dev.adj file from here - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B67DhJWuBYVAU3Znc0J6NVE2eW8/view?usp=sharing
-
- Turn on the camera and select the “SMART AUTO” mode
- - TEST MODE : SMART MODE → DOWN → OK → UP → OK → RIGHT → del+OK button at the same time.

The video is just to show it working in a NX1, but I think it will be the same menu for NX1000, and the link for the file at google drive is dead, it goes like this:

create a text file in SD card root, name it nx_dev.adj (change the file extension from .txt to .adj) and write inside of the file smart_camera and save it. It should be 12 bytes exactly

Give it a try.

And about the autoexec.sh method for NX2000, you need to place the file in the SD card, then connect to the email option in wifi menu, and in the computer use the telnet command to change things. Nothing will happen in the camera itself, but when you remove the video rec. limit then start to record a video, it'll not show the 00:00/29:59 anymore, it'll be something like 00:00/152:59, as for 152 minutes and 59 seconds of recording.

Remember to format your SD as EXFAT, since FAT32 will limit the file to 4GB.

Another thing, every entrance for preman commands is different for every camera model. In nx2000 the memory address for "APPPREF_B_ENABLE_NO_LENS_RELEASE" is 0x0000030c, in nx300 its something else entirely, and in nx1000 will be different too, so you need to run a prefman info command, to check every single memory address for each function, then you set it as 1 to enable no lens release.

You may follow the wiki in this git to check how to connect and use telnet, collect memory information with prefman and change it.

Feel free to update us with your progress

Hi Gustavo, Thanks for your helpful information. For the NX1000, I was able to enter the "Developer Menu" in Smart mode with nx_dev.adj file in root directory of the SD card, its one line contents: smart_camera The tricky part in the key input sequence to activate the menu was to press (for 3-5 seconds) the delete button long enough and then release OK button.

As for autoexec.sh in the root directory, I could not get telnet to work with any WiFi or email setups with the NX1000 camera. Since the autoexec.sh works for you on the NX2000, is it the only file on the SD card? I ask because I do not know where the connect.sh file comes from. I thought /mnt/mmc/remote/connect.sh resides on the SD card, but it must be in the camera. On the NX1000 these files may not exist in a /mnt/mmc path in the camera.

I don't know for sure the path to the SD card contents. Based on a UPnPConfig file on the SD card it probably is /ext/sd0

thanks again,

Good to know that it worked for you!

As for the autoexec.sh file, its not the only file in the SD card, its together with the photos and other files the camera produces in the SD. Its set in the root of the card.. Maybe there will be other way to get there.

One thing that I noticed, is that there are no mentions about NX1000 and NX210 using Tizen OS, do you know if its really a linux based running in those cameras? If it is, then its hackable, if its not, well then I think there is no way to get into closed source material, unfortunately...

Sadly, the NX1000 runs on VxWorks, not Linux/Tizen.

Sorry for the late reply. I'll be adding more files to place in the SD card, then it should work for you!

I've added the files provided by https://github.com/mewlips All you have to do is to place the files in the SD card. Its a better solution than mine. Also it adds the remote viewfinder option that you can use simply by connecting the camera to the same network as your computer/smartphone. It will allow you to control the camera by the browser!

do you know if it possible to have a clean hdmi output from the nx2000? or if it is possible to use it with a dc power adaptor? Thanks!

Does nx20 have more features?

JankHua commented 2 years ago

If nx20 doesn't shoot well, I'll change it to nx300.
