I wanted to make sure I determined the raw spatial grain in a legitimate way.
The finest level of spatial grain for d249 is lakeid. In the metadata, each lake is said to be sampled with a "seine used is 12.2 m long by 1.2 m deep, consisting of two 5.5 x 1.2 m wings surrounding a 1.2 x 1.2 x 1.2 m central bag". (https://portal.lternet.edu/nis/metadataviewer?packageid=knb-lter-ntl.7.10). So, I said that the raw spatial grain would be 12.2*1.2 = 14.64 m2.
Is that a correct way of determining spatial grain?
need to break this dataset down by type of gear used in order to get a uniform spatial scale, will vary depending on which gear has the most species caught.
