I wanted to make sure that I had the right spatial grain for d252.

Metadata text: Any traps that are damaged or not functioning are re-set. Sampling DesignArthropods are collected in pitfall traps, made of a 15 oz. can (11 cm tall and 7.5 cm in diameter) dug into the ground so that the opening of the can is flush with the ground.

I am going to use 82.5 cm2 as my grain since I don't think you are supposed to use oz as a spatial unit.

Also, had to stop at the species because they have coded -888 as NA and I can't remove them using bad spp. It looks like someone else formatted the dataset using a different script 12/14/15 so I'm going to pause on this for now.

Spatial grain is 4 m2, an estimate of space bc there was no direct spatial scale provided. The only information was "the lines were located to provide a systematic array with trap lines approx 200 m from each other on the landscape," so a 4 m2 grid was estimated by Allen.
