Hi all, this is the first notification I've sent out using the "Issues" feature of Github. This is something useful if you have a question about something and I am not in my office. Go to the dietdatabase homepage on Github, and click on the "Issues" link at the top of the right hand bar. Provide a descriptive title for your issue. If you use someone's github username (mine is @ahhurlbert) in the issue field, they will get an email notification automatically.
The reason to use Issues instead of directly emailing a question is that an email inbox can be hard to sort through and it can be easy to lose track of someone's request or question. Here on Github, all of the questions and issues for the project are kept in one spot, and once the issue has been resolved then it can be deleted.
Just a quick note recording prey items in the Prey_Scientific_Name field. When the full scientific name (genus + species) is actually provided, it should all go in this field (separated by a space, of course), not just the secondary species epithet. So a prey item of Passer domesticus would get listed as
@wlarsen2 @seyfriedc @jsbarnes @Lexiep @msandova @mauriemma

Will, can you adjust your owl diet items accordingly?
Can everyone post a fake issue (and be sure to reference my username so I will get notified) just for practice?
