The gray and blue blend in with the map.

Maybe red?

unfortunately this map is a different project that's embedded in an iframe so we'd have to reach out to Jason about that. BUT we should have a newer map feature coming soon (today?) that we could take that into account and adjust color contrast for accessibility if necessary. I checked all of the other color contrasts last night against WCAG2AA and it's passing..

@LauraMB12 I'm going to close this as we can't change it, but I'm working with Mapbox on the next iteration and will make sure the markers are more accessible.

Yeah I can but red and blue markers on a gray basemap. I've done this on another (work) project and it works great as long as you're reading the map from the perspective of a person who lives there

can put*

this will be a saturday thing though, today is just a really bad day for me.

Totally understandable. Thanks!

These are currently defined as a data-uri here, fwiw: https://github.com/hurricane-response/florence_website/blob/38034999679cc0653725b0907d0c9d8e0cad77a0/assets/css/main.scss#L34

leaving a note for myself that the grayed out shelter icons still make it difficult to differentiate the active shelter.

Assume that's also in the data-uri so will look there first.
