Borked fonts on 2.3 #81

I've seen it reported here:

but I don't see it here, so i'm creating an issue for it.

My device is a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I900 with 2.3.4, and on the few Qt apps i've 
tested I see empty squares instead of characters.

Same here: Samsung Galaxy Tab and Galaxy SII. The exact same code is fine on a 
nexus one.
