What is the setup to enable ssh access to the device? #8

Hi, I received this device from my ISP and I'm interested in performing ssh to access it and examine its settings, but I'm not sure how to physically enable the ssh. Currently this device is inserted into a media converter from which comes out an rj45 cable to my router (or to my computer directly if needed). I tried running the advertised ssh command with the username (on windows) but it just errors that it can't access the address on the ssh port 22. I think it's most likely not recognized as part of the network at all. Do I need an entirely different way to plug it into my pc so that I'll be able to ssh into it? Or what exactly am I doing wrong? Also does it matter if the fiber cable is plugged in or not when trying to ssh? Thanks!

The fiber being plugged or not shouldn't matter, but in a few cases the "LAN" IP stops working after being connected.

If a ping works (just to be sure the network is correctly configured), but ssh doesn't, then it might have been disabled. Did you try http too ? Maybe there could be a telnet access.

If nothing works, then the only solution would be to connect a serial port, but access to be bootloader would require opening the G-010S-A and shorting the flash, but since it comes from your ISP that would probably be too risky.
