На прошивки r4731 за сутки все работает

скатиться опять на 3300 , не отдает
информацию по модему e392 , ни как идеальную

Since this branch is experimental now, it recommended for experienced users
only.

For example, http://wpte.kicks-ass.net/downloads/Oleg

You have to read wl500g.info forum, especially about flashfs.

Please don't flood this issue with non Wi-Fi related problems. Use forum in
case of you have insufficient knowledge in Unix-like systems.

try out r4772 firmware from http://asus.vectormm.net/rtn/4772/
also, it's better to reset settings to factory defaults after flashing and
setup again manually, settings restore will bring back almost all the issues.

Recently (last 2-3 months) i notice some weird behaviour with wireless, what i
notice it that when i poweron router all works just fine, hours later or next
day wireless coverage is cutted alot. I lost connection on the same places i
had previously wireless coverage working fine. The worst part is that on most
of them i cannot even detect my wireless network, i need to get much closer to
the router to get coverage, once i reboot the router via ssh or telnet or
shutdown and power on again things got normal go normal again until the next
day the same problem appear. I try it all, b,g,n, auto, channels change, load
defaults without importing .cfg i cannot get rid of it, im sure if i install a
older FW this will be fixed, the problem is to know what version :-) Maybe
r3xxx ...

Another problem that i noticed, on r4770 and r4772 (at least these ones), it's
not possible to do a 'reboot' via SSH if usb devices connected, first power led
will turn off and after the wireless led should do the same but will not turn
off, the result will be a "hang" and offcourse it will not reboot. With 4603
it's working just fine. I waste 1h testing this and it's confirmed by me.

Thanks

hggomez:
Problem with reboot must be outside this issue. Additionally, I can't reproduce
it. Probably, you have custom scripts incompatible with busybox 1.20. And r4603
is too old, try r4667 previous release.

Ok thanks, i will try to found where the problem is then, what about the
wireless issues?

Thanks alot.

Please read entire thread. Except defaults, we can't modify Wi-Fi driver due
missing sources.

As for me, I can't reproduce similar symptoms.

Why not use the 5.100 SDK sources from ASUS like Tomato does?

Thanks

5.100 SDK sources?

can you give us a proof link, there is only leaked source from one of the
Belkin-F7D4401, but they are not compatable with ASUS (you need to tweak
something there to make it work or probably alter source code as well).

Tomato Fw uses 5.100.x drivers on RT-N16 and RT-N66U and they come from ASUS,
so if they are able to do it im quite positive this team can do it also. Maybe
they use the binaries don't know actually if the have access to source code,
probably not, but DD-WRT and OpenWRT have.

We have plans migrate to SDK 5.100, but it requires time resources...

Once again(10x) - DD-WRT sign NDA as commercial organization and pays some fee
to access SDK sources. OpenWRT hasn't sources, they use custom compiled Wi-Fi
driver donated by some friend/organization.

I was refearing to Tomato, i knew already about OpenWRT and DD-WRT. I'ts time
to find also some friend/organization that could donate drivers to you lly ;)
hehee

Thanks again.

Well, after lots of testing heres the results:

When i turn on / or reboot the router i've got this values:

pc1: 45% signal quality
pc2: 67% signal quality
pc3: 82% signal quality

Randomly (1H-30H later) i lost wireless connection (on the worst signal
clients) and got signal drastical worst on the others, this is the result:

pc1: 1-10% signal quality (lost connection)
pc2: 30-37% signal quality
pc3: 45-52% signal quality

I can resolve this issues with a simple: wl down / wl up / wl restart

Wireless goes normal again. It seems 5.10 its ok so far, the problem is that i
cannot reboot router with USB devices connected, probably because buxybox 1.20
script incompatibility just like LLY said before.

Thanks.

Hi!

I use the 5.10 Versions now since 4743 without any problems, thank you for your
work making extra Versions for sdk5.10 :).

Is it normal that i can get only connectet with 130MBit to my RT-N16? I tried
many things to get the full 300MBit, but has no success till now.

what range are you using?

what kind of wireless card you've got?

it depends on lotsa factors

for example on intel 5100/5300 300mbit (40Mhz) on 2.4Ghz is locked in EEPROM on
few cards and also they are not allowing to connect if there are many other APs
around you

anyways, I don't recommend using 300mbit because it's quite buggy and can lead
to random disconnects even on SDK 5.10

the most stable was 144/130 mbit mode for me (20Mhz)

Some remarks for my october'12 posts. I test tomato, wrt and merlin firmware.
In merlin fw I see that cpu temperature over 60 C degrees. After installing
cooler from Intel P4 CPU in place between 2 chips on RT-N16 PCB temperature
about 40-42 C degrees. Now I didn't have any problems with WiFi stretch and
slow down speed. Now I test latest stock fw 3.0.0.4.354, 7 days without
problems.

RT-N16

Hi,
iam having same issue over an year(lot of versions has changed). Most of time with only 1 client connected on wifi. Signal is perfect(-40db) all time. Cant figure out whats happening, but after restarting router, transfer speeds are ~11MB/s and few days later(3) it drops down and cant get more than ~3MB/s. On ethernet side is 1pc connected 24/7, but it doesnt have any issue.
Thers no connections, signal, ping, cpu dropouts. just wibi become slow. Nothing
special found in log.

Same as here
