We should collect some example cases (presumably easiest using msprime) of simple and more complex genealogies we can use to argue about the identifiability of nodes via shared recombinations.
It may be helpful to use https://github.com/kitchensjn/tskit_arg_visualizer to visualise these, if it copes with simplified ARGs (see https://github.com/kitchensjn/tskit_arg_visualizer/issues/16)
