Cutting PCB to reduce gates\size? #21

Would it work if I cut the PCB here to remove a level shifter and four gates? It would then fit my hive:

I would make a wooden adaptor on the entrance. The gate entrances are not wider than the beehive entrance so an adaptor could work.
