I've been in the process of getting familiar with packaging standards and process of the major platforms, including Debian. The process essentially boils down to making a bug report to Debian, and then either getting someone to maintain the package process or doing it yourself. I've offered to do it, and you can watch the conversation here:

This is awesome! Thank you so much for submitting the package.
As of today, Hyfetch has been accepted into Debian Unstable. Though it may take a little bit longer for it to be added to repos since Debian does that on a cron job and I'm not certain of the frequency.
Good work!
I run a debian mirror (among other distros) and I can confirm it's in the repo as of 2023-10-25 18:00+0000.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. A clear and concise description of what the problem is. Ex. I'm always frustrated when [I have to install hyfetch from source on debian(-like) systems]
Describe the solution you'd like To be able to install hyfetch using debian's official repo
Describe alternatives you've considered PPA? I think hyfetch deserves to be in the debian's official repo, not just a PPA
Additional context I'm glad that hyfetch made it into Arch's extra as I daily drive Arch. For debian, this won't be trivial as Debian's standard is known to be very high. I'll try to help if I have the time to do some reading. Let's get hyfetch into debian sid or unstable first, then aim to be included into debian 13, before Jan 2025's package freeze.
