@iareh // why don't attach a logcat from x4 or x5 ?
It will be very helpful to guess/find the magic of the x4/x5.

I will be very happy when I will be able to understand the MAGIC of logcat :).
How to do this magic??

connect your phone to your pc.
you know how to use adb?

use adb with a command line tool like cmd.exe in windows.
write in it
adb shell logcat > logcat.txt
adb shell dmesg > dmesg.txt

Here is logcat for Chinese version x5.

adb shell logcat > logcat.txt creates logcat.txt but does not return to command
line for a long time. I used Ctrl+c to stop. How long should i wait?

that means he can connect his apn with GB-X5.

logcat does not much helpful but it says X5 works correctly with his APN.

Is it possible to install gapps from within Android?
Or do I have to be in CWM?

I have ROM Manager installed (lot of good that does me with this phone), so it
treats the gapps zip file like a ROM that can be installed, but I'm afraid to
install it this way in case it screws something up, or just doesn't work.

Usually if I try to use a ROM Manager function, the phone just reboots, I guess
it's trying to reboot into CWM, but that is impossible so far on the Eve, right?

Original comment by rais...@gmail.com on 5 May 2011 at 5:45

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
rais >>> you can not reboot into recovery CWM , because GW620 has no recovery
partition
or no access to recovery partition.

Original comment by justsad.eng@gmail.com on 5 May 2011 at 5:48

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
the altest gapps i called is the universal gingerbread gapps. to use with CM7
and normal android with 2.3.x
you should use the recovery image to install it from zip.

Original comment by Katzen...@gmail.com on 5 May 2011 at 5:49

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
justsad - yup

Katzen - so the anser is no?

Original comment by rais...@gmail.com on 5 May 2011 at 5:54

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
no, you need to use the CWM image to install gapps, (normal way).you can not
use the ROM Manager to install gapps

Original comment by justsad.eng@gmail.com on 5 May 2011 at 5:56

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
use the recovery image to install it.
you can't restart into recovery mode or bootloader.
i think because the bootloader isn't installed and the recovery mode isnt able
to use.

Original comment by Katzen...@gmail.com on 5 May 2011 at 5:57

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Oh well.
Thanks guys.

I do remember that in OpenEtna there was a script that you could run from the
Terminal Emulator that would install gapps, but it was coded to a specific
version.

Original comment by rais...@gmail.com on 5 May 2011 at 6:03

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
i used openetna before but never used the script to install gapps ^^

Thanks again wkp for enabling rebooting into CWM recovery, I suspected I could
overwrite the boot image with the CWM image, but I didn't want to break
anything ;D.

Now if there was a way to have CWM automatically revert to whatever boot image
you were previously using, when you exit it, so the phone will actually restart
and boot normally...

Also, I think Polytheus wants to talk to you -
