Could you clarify what you mean by the 'face-on' image? Do you want the image as seen from the Sun/Earth, or from outside the grid, looking down on it?
If you have further questions related to this, you can send me an email at thomas.robitaille@gmail.com
I set a spherical polar grid to calculate the emission of Milky way clouds, located at (l,b,D)=(25 deg,0.5 deg, 800 pc), where D is the distance to the Sun. In this grid, the sun is located at (0,0,0). If I want to get the image as face on, which view angle should I choose? Is it (90-0.5 deg, 25 deg)? And when I output the image using get_image(), which distance should I set to get the emission the same as I get at earth? Should the distance be 8.5 kpc or 0?
