hyper is somewhat ready on master, so you can somewhat continue on this via a git dependency for now.

Using this through the git dependency doesn't seem to work for us because hyper removed the Connection trait and I think hyper-tls needs changes to implement its replacement? https://github.com/hyperium/hyper/commit/d67e49f1491327a78f804bab32804dc6c73d2974
