Improve branching strategy #141

Currently the development is all carried out on 1.0.5 and then it moved to 1.0.6 release branch. The samples related changes were added in main and are missing in other release branches. We should fix this to make it uniform across fabric projects. We need to port all the changes from 1.0.6 to main

Back ported all the changes from v1.0.6 to main branch and the development now shall be carries on main branch and we can release tags/branches based out of main
