I've made some workarounds to have the exporter work on Blender 2.8.x and fixed a few issues. Note the changes I've made is not compatible with lower versions, so I make it standalone.
It seems that the project is currently abandoned. If permitted, I can maintain this in my fork. (You may need to license the project first)
