Google Docs and some other tools have a very useful "Anyone with the link" share option which provides a way to have a discussion that is private to a group of people (provided they share the link responsibly) without the friction of signing everyone up to the service.
A few times in recent days I've found some nugget of information in the middle of a lengthy page of documentation or blog post and wanted to share that plus some notes with colleagues, but not make it visible to everyone.
This could perhaps be implemented with a Via link that includes an authentication token in the URL.
