Quite simply, one should be able to follow users, groups or pages they are interested in.

Obviously, there is a lot of precedence for this in social networks like Twitter. How would a social network based on open annotation be different? Would it be like subscribing to an RSS feed? Can I follow more than just users, such as the annotations from a certain page or website?

I wrote a short paper on a cluster of related topics. This could provide some food for thought. I think it would work well in combination with annotating annotations (#84) and related ideas about trustiness of users.
