Try updating hyprland and see if the issue still occurs for you? Sounds like a similar issue that was fixed in f877d68f.
I'm on the latest commit, built from source.
Got a new laptop, and I no longer care about this issue.

Upon starting Hyprland (i.e prior to device boot) the system goes unresponsive after a few seconds, the screen goes black and a stationary cursor is displayed on the blackscreen. If I manually kill the compositor with
pkill Hyprland
in a separate TTY, I can use it as usual.Logs: https://p.frzn.dev/jiw
Steps to reproduce:
Expected outcome: I use Hyprland to complete my daily tasks. Noted outcome: Hyprland goes unresponsive after a few seconds.
