Bug or Regression?

Bug

Description

strips of screen at the right and bottom of screen seem to have dropped frames, i suspect this is because of fractional scaling, but i'm not sure

How to reproduce

using fractional scaling on hidpi display, i have it set to specifically 1.6

Crash reports, logs, images, videos

No response

vaxerski commented 7 months ago

can you record / make a pic?

brainlessbitch commented 7 months ago

i tried, but they don't show up, i think those area's are not seen as screen area by wayland, i can try another recording software tho

took some shitty picks on my phone IMG_3511 IMG_3513

vaxerski commented 7 months ago

huh, that looks like a scaling bug indeed

g33kex commented 7 months ago

I have the same issue with 1.333333 scaling. It doesn't happen with 1 or 2 scaling.

darkdarcool commented 7 months ago

+1 on this issue (setting the scale to 1 or 2 does remove the artifacts)

I also got a screenshot of my setup with the artifacts at the bottom:

(look very closely at the bottom left)

I've noticed the artifacts change color over time/depending on where the mouse is. Sometimes they're a full white line, but sometimes part of the line has a different color. They don't show up on screenshots. Here is a picture of the white line on the bottom and right side:

The artifacts show up more often when doing something full screen, like watching a video. Sometimes they go away after starting up programs like intellij idea. No idea why.
